The Topper family of shotguns has long appealed to a diversity of hunters. Being relatively inexpensive weapons, the H&R Toppers are all reliable, robust and accurate shotguns. The Topper model comes in the .410 bore, 12 or 20 gauge calibers; with a variety of chokes. It features a basic break-loading/auto shell ejection feed system in addition to exposed hammers, a recoil pad and a brass bead front sight for swift target acquisition. The weapon has found use primarily in the hands of small-game hunters or rural-inhabitants, as a pest-control weapon.
